Since this is a 'reimagining', I'd personally like to see a little clarification on the backstories of Ratchet and Clank (Such as a closer look on the affects being an orphan had on Ratchet and if being a 'defect' has any impact on Clank).

My opinion may be unpopular on this matter, but I don't think it would be a good idea for the film to really elaborate very much on the lombaxes and their history, or to go bringing Angela back just for the sake of pleasing fans. This film is really more of a gateway to get a new audience interested in the series, and doing something like going into detail about any species (not just lombaxes) or bring in characters like Angela without very good reason could be detrimental to establishing Ratchet and Clank as characters, something essential to drawing people into the story in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Angela Cross fan, but I'd rather the film focus on the main cast more than anything else.

With that said, I'm not terribly excited over the new characters. Design wise, the female leads seem far more human than I would prefer. Quite a shame too, given that the male characters all seem to have very unique and interesting designs. Getting to characters, Cora (or Space Avatar as I jokingly call her) on a surface level looks like her role could easily be filled by Talwyn, especially given that chronological order of events from the series does not seem to be too critical to telling the story of this reimagining (as indicated by Nefarious' appearance). Still, until the actual film comes out, there's not much more to say.

Also, I would like to see Ratchet acting kind of like a jerk. Not too much so, as his original personality was quite polarizing and unpopular among people. However, some slight allusions to his old, more reckless and not-so-heroic personality would be nice. Sadly, it looks like that probably won't be the case. A shame in my opinion, considering that audiences tend to relate more to a slightly flawed protagonist. Case and point is 'Guardians of the Galaxy', which had four out of five main characters having very flawed and identifiable personalities and yet was still beloved by pretty much everyone I know.

I suppose the one thing I'm not pessimistic about in the slightest is the idea of seeing familiar locations in movie quality video. Also the soundtrack should be pretty good if it follows the example of the series' music.

Still, all of this is unimportant so long as the movie turns out as good as the film staff keep claiming it will be. Here's to hoping the film is a success.
